The Necessity of Information Governance and Data Classification for Complying With the GDPR

Nearing the new General Info Protection Regulation (GDPR), effective from May 2018, companies based in Europe or having personal data of folks moving into Europe, are struggling to find their most valuable assets in the corporation – their very sensitive data.

The new rules requires organizations to prevent any data breach of personally identifiable information (PII) and delete any data if some individual desires to do so. Following removing all PII data, the companies will have to confirm that it has recently been totally removed to that person also to the specialists. 

Most companies today understand their obligation to display accountability and compliance, and therefore started preparing for the new regulation.

o Driver’s permit amount
o Face, finger prints, or handwriting
o Credit rating card figures
o Digital identity
o Date of birth
o Birthplace
u Genetic information
o Cell phone number
o Login name, screen name, nickname, or handle
